VAGINAL ULTRASOUND SCANNING

Vaginal ultrasound is used in early pregnancy and gynecological scanning.  It is similar to a pelvic examination.  The transducer is inserted into the vagina and the procedure takes about twenty minutes.

There is no preparation for this exam.  YOU DO NOT NEED A FULL BLADDER.  The procedure is done using sound waves and will not harm a fetus.
